Hello! I'm Zuzana
Food stylist & photographer. I adore delicious food and good coffee.
The story of this food blog
Hello, my name is Zuzana Torbiková. I come from Slovakia. How did I get into cooking? I was interested in cooking from a young age, watching my mother cook... I started with pancakes because my brothers adored them, so I was "forced" to bake pancakes. 🙂
When deciding where to go to high school, I wasn't sure which direction to go. I always knew that I wanted to study foreign languages, but I didn't dare to go to a bilingual gymnasium, so I decided to go to a hotel academy. And that's how it started...
But, I didn't realize it yet...
During my studies at the hotel academy, I learned basic cooking and baking techniques. I also completed an exchange stay in Germany. I liked it abroad, so I decided to continue studying foreign languages and started studying translation and interpreting. During my free time, I constantly visited Germany, where I worked in gastronomy. I have always associated a foreign language with gastronomy. So I actually had it 2 in 1. After successfully completing my bachelor's studies at the university, I decided to go to Germany.
In Germany I was on my own. After some time I found a boyfriend and we started living together. I wanted to prove myself as the best cook possible, because love goes through the stomach...
And that's how I discovered my passion for cooking. I started with classic Slovak recipes such as cabbage rolls, dumplings, dumplings, etc. I also started to enjoy baking, it started with Christmas pastries and then I tried new and new recipes. My friend kept telling me that the food was really delicious, that I should do a Food Blog. I didn't dare, but I started taking pictures of food. I didn't understand how to take a proper photo. I gradually started buying different plates, bowls, decorations and started taking pictures of my creations. It wasn't the same in the beginning, even now the photos aren't perfect, but I'm constantly trying to improve.
To the recipes:
My recipes are not special or very complicated. They are simple recipes enriched with other ingredients, old recipes made in a slightly different way, etc. I always put my heart into meals and cook them with joy and taste them in such a way that they taste good not only for me, but also for the whole family.
I hope that you will find what you are looking for on my blog, that I will inspire you a little so that cooking/baking is not only a necessity, but that you do it with love and taste :-*
With love,
Susan

To be honest, being a food blogger is not very easy these days. There are an awful lot of bloggers and that's why it's very difficult to get ahead. But if you really enjoy it, then definitely start with it. But don't quit your job! Do it as a hobby and in time you will see if it fulfills you and if it is the right thing for you. Don't hesitate and try it!
The most important thing is the light, the best photos are taken in daylight. Special lights can also be purchased. Composition is important, colors must match, different plates, cutlery, etc.
