The story of this food blog
My Story: How This Food Blog Was Created
Hello! My name is Zuzana Torbiková, I'm originally from Slovakia and cooking is my great passion. 💚 If you love food, homemade flavors and simple recipes that leave a strong impression, you've come to the right place!
My culinary adventure began in childhood. I watched my mom in the kitchen and as a little girl I lovingly prepared pancakes for my brothers – probably because they loved them and I wanted to make them happy. 😊
Although I always wanted to study languages, I eventually decided to go to a hotel academy. And that's where it all started... Cooking, baking, an exchange stay in Germany, working in gastronomy - everything came together. Getting to know new tastes and cultures opened my eyes and taste buds.
After school, I moved to Germany, where I was on my own. So I cooked – first classics from Slovakia, then I started experimenting. Christmas pastries, traditional dishes, and modern desserts. I wanted food to be not just food, but an experience. My boyfriend kept telling me: “You have to share this!” And so the idea for a food blog was born.
It wasn't easy at first - I knew nothing about photography, food styling or blogging. But with every meal, with every photo, I learned. Today, I have cabinets full of plates, bowls, props and I still look forward to cooking, photographing and sharing something new like a little child.
About recipes
On my blog you will find recipes that are simple, quick and prepared with love. They are not complicated, but they always have something extra – a taste, an idea or a little trick that makes them special. I test everything myself and cook it so that not only you, but also your family will enjoy it.
My recipes combine tradition, seasonality, current trends and a dose of creativity. You'll find classics in a new guise, sweet and savory inspirations, recipes for holidays and everyday meals - in short, food for every day that can be managed without stress, but with taste.
Why a blog?
I want to show that cooking can be a joy, not a chore. That even simple food can be beautiful, delicious, and inspiring. That cooking doesn't have to be perfect - it just has to be from the heart.
I will be happy if my recipes inspire someone. If my idea for a quick lunch ever saves you or a simple cookie with coffee pleases you. ♥️
Thank you for being here. I hope you find something delicious here and come back to me with joy.
With love,
Susan

To be honest, being a food blogger is not very easy these days. There are an awful lot of bloggers and that's why it's very difficult to get ahead. But if you really enjoy it, then definitely start with it. But don't quit your job! Do it as a hobby and in time you will see if it fulfills you and if it is the right thing for you. Don't hesitate and try it!
The most important thing is the light, the best photos are taken in daylight. Special lights can also be purchased. Composition is important, colors must match, different plates, cutlery, etc.
